SHREK

Shrek is an ogre who lives his day to day scaring away the villagers who come to his swamp in order to hunt him down. One day he meets a talking donkey running away from a group of guards, and when they see Shrek they run away in terror. Shrek tries to drive the donkey away, but it insists on following him without being afraid of him, so he allows him to spend a night at his house. That night he finds in his swamp countless fairy tale creatures exiled by Lord Farquaad, a noble ruler self-conscious about his height. Angered by the intrusion, he decides to go and demand that Farquaad send them back to their respective stories, taking Donkey with him to reach Duloc, the town that Farquaad rules.Meanwhile in his castle Farquaad tortures the Gingerbread Man until his guards bring in the Magic Mirror. This indicates that he is not yet a king and that he needs a princess to be one, so he presents three options: Cinderella, Snow White and Fiona. Farquaad chooses to marry Princess Fiona, who is locked in a castle tower surrounded by lava and guarded by a dragon, in order not to risk it, he organizes a tournament in which the winner gets the "privilege" to rescue Fiona for him. Shrek and Donkey arrive during the tournament, and unknowingly defeat Farquaad's knights. He proclaims them champions, and forces them under threat of death to rescue Princess Fiona, promising to give Shrek the deeds to his swamp and drive out the trespassers if he succeeds.Shrek and Donkey travel to the castle to find and rescue Fiona. While there they wake up the dragon and it begins to attack them, the dragon throws Shrek towards the princess's tower and corners Donkey, he realizes that it is a female and ends up falling in love with him. Meanwhile, Shrek wakes up Fiona, who is confused by his actions, and takes her away. After rescuing Donkey, the three escape from the castle leaving the Dragon chained to the castle. Fiona is delighted to be rescued but is quickly disappointed when Shrek reveals, at Fiona's insistence, that he is an ogre, this is when he reveals that it was Farquaad who sent him. Fiona insists that Farquaad come looking for her in person but Shrek forcibly takes her away as he ventures back to Duloc with Donkey.At night, while Shrek and Donkey were looking at the stars, the latter tells Shrek what they will do when they get "their" swamp back, to which Donkey expresses his plans to reinstate his solitude in the swamp, and after a discussion with Donkey, Shrek he reveals that he wants to be alone because all people fear him and judge without even knowing him, being all overheard by Fiona, who had gone into a cave to rest, so the next morning she cooks fried eggs for Shrek and Donkey as a sample of kindness. The three meet Robin Hood on their way back who tries to "save" Fiona; but she defends herself, revealing that she is an expert in martial arts and defeating them all and continuing with the trip, Fiona discovers that Shrek was wounded with an arrow, so she sends Donkey away to remove the arrow without problems, but Shrek he trips Fiona and she ends up on top of him. Donkey observes this and Shrek tries to explain the situation, to which Fiona takes the opportunity to withdraw the arrow and Donkey faints from "seeing" blood. Shrek and Fiona discover that they have a lot in common and begin to fall in love.When the trio is almost at Duloc, Fiona takes refuge in a windmill for the night. Donkey enters and to his surprise finds Fiona transformed into an ogress. Fiona reveals that she was cursed during childhood, causing her to transform into an ogress every night, and that only her true love's kiss will change her to her true form. Meanwhile Shrek goes with Fiona to confess his feelings, he listens to part of her conversation with Donkey telling him who could marry an ugly beast (referring to herself), Shrek is disappointed thinking that she said it for him and leaves. The next morning Fiona transforms into a human, but sees that Shrek has led Lord Farquaad to find her. Confused and hurt by Shrek's cold attitude, Fiona accepts Farquaad's marriage proposal and asks that they be married before nightfall. The couple returns to Duloc, while Donkey accompanies Shrek to explain what happened, but he angrily yells at him that he doesn't want to see him again and returns to his swamp.That same afternoon Donkey arrives at the swamp and is confronted by a still angry and sad Shrek. Donkey explains the misunderstanding, the two reconcile and Donkey urges Shrek to express his feelings for Fiona before she gets married, and the two quickly travel to Duloc riding the Dragon, who had escaped its confines and followed Donkey. Shrek interrupts the wedding before Farquaad can kiss Fiona; he tells her that Farquaad is not her true love and that he is only marrying her to become king. The sun sets, making Fiona an ogress in front of everyone, shocking Shrek and outraging Farquaad, who orders Shrek to be executed and Fiona taken into custody. The Dragon storms past Donkey and devours Farquaad alive, and Shrek reveals his love to Fiona, the two share a kiss that breaks Fiona's curse, but is disappointed to see that she is still an ogress despite the fact that she was supposed to. that she was going to be beautiful, but Shrek claims that she is beautiful. Soon after, they get married in the swamp, and go on their honeymoon, ending the film with the line "and they lived ugly forever."
